By definition, a biomolecule is a chemical compound that naturally occurs within organisms. These molecules are usually
composed of six main elements: oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, and carbon. The presence of biomolecules is
essential to life and all organisms. Biomolecules help from carrying on chemical reactions in our bodies to making drugs used
to fight off deadly diseases.
There are four main types of biomolecules: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids. Each is made up of
a different arrangement and chemical formulas, as well as their differences in function. One is used as fuel, others used
to protect and transport fluids, each as important as the other.
